About Star Trek The Movie 2009

The 2009 Star Trek movie is a science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The film follows James T. Kirk, played by Chris Pine, and Spock, played by Zachary Quinto, before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to fight the Romulan Nero, played by Eric Bana. The eleventh film based on the Star Trek franchise features the main characters of the Star Trek original television series, who are portrayed by a new cast. The time-travel storyline establishes an alternate reality, freeing the film from established continuity constraints.

The rest of the cast is filled out by Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Montgomery “Scotty” Scott, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu, and Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov.
